What The *#@^!

Being the conscientious citizen that I am, I was reading through my voter information packet when I came upon this little gem.

Those of you who have lived in Utah during the past decade may remember "SuperDell" as the owner and annoying spokesperson for Totally Awesome Computers who drove his company into the ground. Later he became known as the crazy guy who was arrested for flying a small plane low over the freeway in North Salt Lake, and the crazy guy who was arrested for pulling a gun during a road rage incident in a residential neighborhood. Nowadays he is the extremely annoying and obviously insane spokesperson for Money Train Title Loans, and apparently gubernatorial candidate. Notice that his alleged running mate was apparently too embarrassed to submit a photo or a statement.

I was not impressed by Karl Malone years ago when he told a reporter that running for governor of Utah "...do interest me. It really do." However I am more impressed with Karl than I am with this yahoo. With people of this caliber running for public office it is no wonder that our country is in such a mess!

Could It Be A Park?

This is a shot of the old Clover Club lot near my house. They have been talking about turning it into a park for at least the last four years, but nothing has ever happend. A few weeks ago the started mounding piles of dirt on the lot. There are three big mounds of dirt, and each of them is a different color. Every day they drive front loaders around and they smooth down the tops of each mound then they pile some more dirt on top. Could this be the beginning of a park, or are they just paying some guys to play with dirt? Your guess is as good as mine. It reminds me of when I was little and there was a big mound of dirt in the spare lot across the street from the Wilson's house. Colby and I loved to play Cowboys and Indians on the "mountain".

Fall

I have an awful cold today and I feel like I've been run over by a truck. However, after lying on my couch all afternoon looking at this view, I knew that if I didn't get out to see the leaves in the canyon today they might be brown next weekend.

I'm not a great photographer, and my camera is a third generation hand-me-down piece of crap that is literally held together by duct tape, but I think that the pictures turned out okay.

Got The Munchies?

Apparently someone had the munchies while I was at church this afternoon. Despite the fact that she had plenty of food in her dish, and that I had given her a large pig ear just before I left the house, she was apparently so hungry that she had to steal a loaf of bread off the counter and eat the whole thing. Yes, it was an entire loaf of bread that I just purchased last night, and yes, this is all that was left when I got home.

You might think that she wouldn't be hungry for the rest of the day, but she drooled and pawed at me while I ate my dinner, and she eagerly licked my plate when I was done.

The Kitchen Has Finally Been Painted

Well, I managed to put off painting my kitchen for about two months, but I finally got it done today.

I still need to paint the spot on the ceiling that was ruined during the last rain storm. I should be able to get that done on Monday. I am a little nervous because we are having a pretty good rain storm right now, and I am hoping that Aaron really got that leak patched up or I may be back to square one again tomorrow.

I spent the afternoon looking for a picture that I can put on that wall. The one on the floor in the before picture is from Grandpa Tilley's house. It is okay, but it is all yellows and browns, and I would really like to have a pop of red right there. I went into Tai Pan Trading to look for a print, and this is what I found.

I know, the picture didn't turn out very well, but you get the point. Come on, people, it is only September 20th! Since I haven't been to that store for a couple of months now who knows how long they have had their Christmas displays up. The one good thing about it was that I picked up a pine scented candle. Pine is my favorite scent, and it is hard to find except at Christmas.

I've Been Waiting Half My Life For This!

The Legacy Parkway finally opened yesterday, and I have had the opportunity to enjoy it twice already. It is a great little highway, even though the speed limit is only 55 mph and you can only exit in Centerville or at 5th South in Bountiful. It's amazing how being just a little to the west of I-15 gives you a totally different perspective on the area. I am really hoping that it helps with the horrific traffic situation through Farmington. Now if we could just finish the current construction project on I-15! Sadly, yes, these are the kinds of things that bring joy and excitement to my life.

On another construction note, Nate asked me a while back if they had started construction on the mall in Farmington. I drove past the site a couple of weeks ago and they have finally torn down the last house (the big one that jutted out into the field on a little hill) and they have been leveling the area and putting in sewer lines. Soon the dream of all Farmingtonians will come true, and they will finally have their upscale shopping center with no K-Mart nearby to drag the area down.
